While most white Sancerre is typically enjoyed in its youth, a select few growers believe in the potential for more multifaceted and robust wines. One of the standout producers in Sancerre is Jean-Paul Balland, who created a truly exceptional white blend with his 'Grande Cuvée'. This coveted wine is aged for 15 months in 600-litre oak barrels, with the remaining portion kept in stainless steel tanks. The result is a beautifully balanced fusion of ripe grapefruit notes and subtle hints of spice from the oak aging process.
